Fire started by military attacks in Şapatan continues for 13 days

The fire started by the Turkish army in Şemdinli’s Şapatan region continues for 13 days and soldiers are preventing the local people that attempt to stop the fire.

The fire started by the Turkish army near the village of Şapatan (Altınsu) in Hakkari’s Şemdinli district on August 28 continues spreading.

Due to the fire that was caused by artillery attacks of the Turkish military on Dole, Serdolê, Hewrîsê, Kanibotkê, Resê, Piştaderê, Kelútka, Pavîzewari and Binsul areas 2 km to Şemdinli, a larger part of the mentioned territory has reduced to ashes.

In the meantime, Turkish soldiers are threatening and obstructing the local people who want to reach the area to stop the fire from spreading.
