Five soldiers killed in guerrilla resistance against Turkish invasion

Five more soldiers were killed as the guerrillas continue to resist the Turkish invasion of Southern Kurdistan. The Turkish army used chemical weapons twice in the Zap region on Monday.

According to the press centre of the People's Defence Forces (HPG), five soldiers of the Turkish invading forces were killed in guerrilla actions in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) on Monday. The Turkish army used chemical weapons twice against guerrilla positions, and carried out four air strikes and dozens of attacks with howitzers and tanks.

The HPG gave the following details about the guerrilla actions and Turkish attacks on 7 November:

GUERRILLA ACTIONS IN ZAP

In the resistance area of Sîda in the Zap region, the invading forces were struck by guerrillas with heavy weapons four times during the day. In one of the actions, light weapons were also used and three soldiers were killed. In the resistance area of Şehîd Adil, a mobile guerrilla team hit a squad that was building a military road and killed one of the occupiers. In Çemço, a soldier was shot dead by a sniper of the YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops).

ATTACKS BY THE TURKISH ARMY

The Şehîd Felat position in Sîda was attacked twice by the Turkish army with chemical weapons. Girê FM was bombed four times by fighter jets, while artillery attacks were directed against Sîda, Çemço, Girê FM and Girê Amêdî.
