Turkish military troops set fire to the forested land subsequent to a ground operation in the Amutka area in the countryside of Dersim’s Hozat district on May 9. The authorities have not taken any action to extinguish the fire ongoing for 4 days.
Local people living in the region said, “The fire spread over 5 hectares of land. Though it declines at night hours thanks to the cold weather, the blames grow violent at midday again. The authorities do not take any action although they are informed of the fire and cite a restriction to the the region due to military operation.”
