Four women arrested in Iran

An Iranian court arrested four women who were detained during a village raid in Ilam.

Iranian soldiers raided Cilize village in Ilam region of Eastern Kurdistan and detained 50 people last week. Four women appeared before a judge and were arrested and sent to Ilam prison on Tuesday.

Local sources identified four women as Terfeye Cilîzî, Hesene Cilîzî, Hemîde Serhî Cilîzî and Hemîde Cebawî.

The residents of Cilize village protested new regulations by the Iranian government and was attacked by police and soldiers.

Several people from Cilize took refuge in neighbouring villages while 50 were detained.
