Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas celebrated Newroz in the Media Defense Areas.

Speaking at the celebration, HPG commander Serhat Jêhat, said that the source of resistance and struggle is Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Saluting the Newroz of the Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and all the fighters, commander Jêhat said: "We pay tribute to all the Newroz martyrs in the person of Çağdaş Kawa and our first martyrs, comrades Mazlum Doğan and Zekiye Alkan. We bow before them with respect and renew our promise to them."

Noting that the PKK is a Newroz movement, Serhat Jêhat said: "Leader Apo [Öcalan] has been struggling with the spirit of Newroz for 53 years. At the same time, Leader Apo is keeping this spirit under difficult conditions in Imralı. He keeps the spirit of Newroz alive and intensifies his struggle."

Commander Serhat Jêhat continued: "This struggle has been an inspiration of great struggle and victory for all humanity. The Kurdistan freedom fighters also derive their resources from Leader Apo's uninterrupted struggle. Undoubtedly, Newroz Day creates great fear for all rulers and cooperating powers. On 1 October 2023, with the spirit of Newroz and the spirit of Erdal and Rojhats, we hit the capital of the genocidal Turkish state. Again, this Newroz spirit grew stronger in every area in the mountains and in the sacrificial army. This spirit was revived once again, especially with the revolutionary moves in Xakurkê and Metîna."

Commander Serhat Jêhat said: "In the last action, HPG and YJA Star guerrillas entered the enemy headquarters. All the people of Kurdistan and our young people should be inspired by this spirit of victory and fight. Wherever there are those who attack our values and the dominant forces, our people and youth must respond with the spirit of the freedom guerrillas. Just as Çağdaş Kawa defeated the tyrant Dehaq, today the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas will defeat the Dehaqs of the period and Erdoğan, the head of the Turkish gang state. No one should doubt this. In particular those who cooperate with the Turkish state should know that no power or technology can defeat this self-sacrificing spirit. It is impossible to defeat the guerrillas who equip themselves with Leader Apo's ideology and a self-sacrificing spirit. These guerrillas are the guerrillas of victory. The guerrillas are the hope of all humanity in the 21st century."

After the speech, the guerrillas danced around the Newroz fire.
