Gerilla TV has released footage from the action conducted by HPG-YJA Star guerrillas targeting Turkish military forces in the countryside of Şemdinli on August 5.

The footage by Gerilla TV contains the preparations of guerrilla forces before the action and details of the action.

Regarding the mentioned action, HPG reported previously that; “Guerrillas carried out an expansive action targeting Hill Geniş, Masiro Strait and Gare Regiment in Hakkari's Şemzinan (Şemdinli) district at 12:30 on August 5. Guerrillas hit Hill Geniş from two sides and the clashes in this area lasted till the evening hours.

Guerrillas on the other hand infiltrated into Masiro Strait after hitting the area with effective strikes. They later took control over the hill and seized some arms of Turkish units.

During the same hours, guerrillas hit the Garê Regiment with heavy weapons, after which Turkish warplanes shelled the area.

Bodies of the soldiers killed here remained on the hill for two days. At 13:00 on August 7, Turkish army retrieved the bodies from the hill with mules and later took them to the public hospital im Şemzinan with a number of ambulances. The hospital was blockaded by Turkish forces. According to obtained information, 30 soldiers of the Turkish army were killed in the action, while six guerrillas fell martyr putting up a brave fight.”
