HPG and YJA Star guerillas spoke to ANF on the anniversary of the PKK’S establishment, and invited the youth of Kurdistan to join the PKK ranks as they said “We will enhance our struggle until our people and the peoples of the world are free.”

HPG guerilla Aram Fırat: We are in a meaningful and historic process as we celebrate the 39th year anniversary of our movement’s establishment. Leader Apo launched the movement with a small group of friends under difficult circumstances. We would be wrong if we treat the PKK as a party or any type of movement. We have to understand the conditions under which the PKK was established and the realities of Kurds and Kurdistan if we really want to understand the PKK and Leader Apo. Our movement has not lost its tempo since Leader Apo took the first step until today. As the movement and the people, we have been in a great struggle in Kurdistan recently. As Apoist militants, we will protect the dreams and legacy of the heroic martyrs that have brought our movement to today. We will crown the 39th year of our movement with victory as we enhance our struggle. We stand by our promise of freedom to our people. We will enhance our struggle until our people and the peoples of the world are free.

‘YOUTH OF KURDISTAN SHOULD PROTECT THE VALUES THAT THE PKK CREATED’

The youth of Kurdistan should protect the values that the PKK created. The struggle for land, people and the oppressed peoples of the world is the most sacred thing in the world. For this reason, I call upon the youth of Kurdistan and our people to enhance the struggle. Our people and the youth of Kurdistan should protect and enhance the values that the PKK created.

‘OUR FREEDOM MOVEMENT GROWS WITH EACH STEP’

YJA-Star guerilla Berîtan Cudî: The 39th year anniversary of the PKK’s establishment is very important for us. I celebrate the day of Leader Apo, our people and the peoples of the world, revolution martyrs and women of the world. Our freedom movement grows with each step. With its 39 yearlong struggle, our movement has been for not only Kurdish people but for all oppressed peoples. Every time we pull the trigger, we express the rage and hatred we have for colonialist forces.

HPG guerilla Serhat Xelat: I congratulate the 39th anniversary of the PKK. What makes us the PKK is our ability to face all difficulties. Today, the fascist Turkish army attacks us with all of its might but fails to achieve success. Our movement has been growing with the values that have been created over the past 40 years. Our movement was launched with a small group of people under difficult circumstances, but has become the movement of millions of people with the trust we get from Kurds.
