The Press and Communications Center of People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) released a statement and announced that guerrilla forces carried out a series of actions against the invading Turkish army on May 6 within the scope of the Martyr Agirî and Martyr Pîroz Revolutionary Campaign.
Around 07.30 hours guerrillas carried out an action against the invaders positioned on the Xeregol hill in Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in this action where the enemy’s positions and tents were effectively hit, could not be determined.
On 09.40, guerrillas carried out an action against the invading Turkish army on the Lêlîkan hill within the territory of Southern Kurdistan. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in this action where all the positions on the hill were put under intense fire, could not be determined.
Again, on 17.45, guerrillas targeted the enemy positions on Lêlîkan hill for the second time. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in this action where the enemy positions were effectively hit, could not be determined either. Following the action, the occupying Turkish army which bombed the area with howitzer and mortar shells, carried away dead and wounded soldiers from the area with cobra-type helicopters with support from Sikorsy helicopters.
