Guerrilla Devrim: "We will not leave Avaşîn to the Turkish colonial state"

Guerrilla Devrim in Avaşîn said: “It is the work of forty years that stands behind our struggle. We will not leave this land to the Turkish colonial state.”

In April 2021, the Turkish army launched a massive attack on the mountains and valleys in the region of Avaşîn in South Kurdistan. The Turkish army bombed with fighter jets and helicopters the areas of Mamreşo, Aris Faris'ta, Girê Sor and Werxelê. The guerrillas responded with an extraordinary resistance.

The Turkish army continued the invasion despite the loss suffered in April 2022. The focus of the attack this time was the region of Zap. Here, too, the guerrillas responded and the attackers suffered heavy casualties. Therefore, from 26 July, the invading forces again turned against Avaşîn.

Guerrilla Devrim took part in the resistance in the tunnels there from the beginning and assessed the situation with the following words: “The Turkish state presents itself as a huge force and gives very heavy propaganda. It uses the dirtiest methods of war to fight against guerrillas. It was constantly claimed that there were no longer any guerrillas left in Avaşîn and that the resistance in Werxelê had been broken. Turkey expected to defeat us in the caves, but the guerrillas foiled its plans. The resistance has grown even stronger this year. We have gained experience over the past year and know how to reverse what the enemy is doing. Turkey calls the operation claw and lock. However, it should know that it will not be easy. Now it's settled on some hills and uses advanced technology, but it doesn't have it easy. It cannot take our country that easily.

Guerrillas fight with the spirit of resistance of the fallen, Şehîd Şoreş Beytüşebab, Şehîd Serhed Giravî, Şehîd Bawer, Şehîd Botan, Şehîd Cumali, Şehîd Ernesto and all the fallen from the war tunnels. We not only resist, we fight and want to win. It is important to turn our resistance positions into active combat positions. The enemy uses chemical gas, but this comes at a cost. It suffers at least ten deaths for every step it takes.”

Guerrilla Devrim continued: “We fight in our mountains, valleys, canyons and caves. We are aware of the legacy that our movement, our dead, our comrades have left us. This soil is soaked with their blood, tilled with their sweat, and blossomed with their work. It is the work of forty years that stands behind our struggle. We will not leave this soil to the Turkish colonial state.

The Turkish state must wage war against us because it is in crisis and chaos in every respect. Nevertheless, it knows very well that it cannot overcome this crisis and chaos. The Kurdish people have a right to this land and the struggle will continue as long as there are Kurds. We used to say that we will fight to the last drop of blood, but now we will continue this fight long after our blood has dried and our bones have shattered. We criticize ourselves for everything we have not achieved so far and we emphasize that we will definitely succeed. In this sense, we wish all comrades success.”
