HPG and YJA Star guerrillas commemorated Zeynep Kınacı (Zîlan), who carried out an action in Dersim on 30 June 1996. Underlining that Martyr Zîlan dealt a heavy blow to the enemy with that action, the guerrillas said that today they are fighting against the enemy in the Medya Defense Areas following the line created by Zîlan.

HPG guerrilla Orhan Lotus commemorated all the martyrs of the revolution in the person of Zîlan, and said: "Martyr Zîlan sacrificed herself for all Kurds, for humanity. The manifesto Heval Zîlan left for us is the manifesto of freedom and protecting the leadership. Zîlan dealt the enemy the biggest blow. That's why our leadership and movement named Zîlan a great commander, and we continue our struggle following her path.

Today, the guerrillas are fighting in Zendura, Xakurkê and Werxelê against the genocidal attacks of the enemy. The enemy is too devastated even to claim their dead. The enemy is making all kinds of attacks, using sophisticated and even chemical weapons. But the guerrillas are fighting a relentless war with the spirit of Zîlan. We must be worthy of heval Zîlan's action and line with our struggle and resistance.

The PKK struggles for the Kurdish people

HPG guerrilla Özgür Guyî said that the sacrifice spirit with which martyr Zîlan fought, was kept alive in the war in Zap, Metina and Avaşîn. "The war going on in the Medya Defense Areas today is not an ordinary war. It is the war of the Kurdish people against a state that wants to destroy it. The enemy is both political and military. It is attacking our people and our Leader. It wants to completely occupy Kurdistan with these methods and to enslave the Kurdish people. The Turkish state has massacred the Kurdish people for years.

The PKK's struggle is the revenge of these massacres. As the Kurdistan guerrillas, we promise that, whatever the cost, we will resist. We give our lives for our country and our Leader. Our people are also fighting in every field. The war today is not just a guerrilla war. The Kurdish people are fighting for existence and nonexistence. My call to our people is to do whatever they can."

We should protect the legacy of the martyrs

YJA Star guerrilla Tekoşîn Elbak said that with the spirit of resistance of Martyr Zîlan, they are resisting the attacks of the enemy in every area of ​​Kurdistan today. "Heval Zîlan is one of our greatest leaders. We will always base ourselves on the line of heval Zîlan.

A great war is being waged in the Media Defense Areas. Our comrades do not allow the enemy to settle in Kurdistan lands. Our comrades have been resisting in the tunnels under harsh conditions for months against the attacks carried out by the Turkish state. Of course, the basis of this resistance is a great willpower. We need to protect the efforts of our people, our Leader, and our martyrs. We must be together with the guerrillas and our people who do not give in to the pressures of the enemy, and in this way we must wage our Revolutionary People's War. A ruthless struggle is already going on in the mountains of Kurdistan. We must always keep the spirit of resistance of Heval Zîlan and Egîd alive.

A few days ago, we saw our mothers' resistance and struggle against the enemy in Elbak. We believe that such resistance will continue. As guerrillas, we draw great strength from our people. On this occasion, we salute the resistance of our mothers. Kurdish youth should turn to the mountains against the attacks of the enemy. Together we must support the resistance of our mothers and our people. In this way, we will break the Imrali isolation."
