The Press Office of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information from the ongoing battle in the Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan.
According to the statement, guerrillas continue hitting the Turkish military forces partaking in a large-scale occupation operation in the region.
On Tuesday, guerrillas hit the Turkish troops stationed on Martyr Serhat Hill in the Metina region at 09:30 on May 11. The action was carried out as part of the Cenga Xabur Revolutionary Campaign launched by the guerrilla in response to the Turkish operation.
The results of the action were not specified in today’s statement by the HPG Press Office.
On the other hand, HPG reported continued attacks with helicopters and fighter jets by the Turkish army on Medya Defense Zones.
Details of the latest attacks and bombings carried out were listed as follows:
On May 11, at 12:30, 13:30 and 20:10, the Zendura Hill of the Metina region was shelled by fighter jets.
On May 11, Zendura Hill and Kêste areas of the Metina region were bombed with attack helicopters from 00:00 to 01:00.
On May 11, at 18:30, Geliyê Avaşîn area in the Avashin region was bombed 3 times by fighter jets.
On May 11 at 18:20, Şikefta Birîndara area of the Zap region was bombed twice by fighter jets.
On May 12, at 01:30, the Werxelê area in the Avashin region was bombed 3 times by fighter jets.
On May 12, from 04:20 to 06:00, helicopters flew over the areas of Qela Bêdewê, Type T and Kinyanîş in the Zap region. At the same time, the Type T and Kinyanîş areas were bombed with attack helicopters.
We did not experience any loss in these bombardments."
