Guerrillas have marked the 37th anniversary of PKK foundation in the mountains of Kurdistan.

Dozens of guerrillas joined a military ceremony in PKK-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan mountains. PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) Central Committee members Muzaffer Ayata, Nurettin Sofi, Helin Ümit and KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council member Xebat Andok were also present at the ceremony.

AYATA: TODAY IS THE ANNIVERSARY OF KURDISH PEOPLE'S EXISTENCE

Addressing to guerrillas here, PKK Central Committee member Muzaffer Ayata said the anniversary of the PKK foundation is also an anniversary of the Kurdish people's existence and revival. Ayata extended respect and gratitude to Kurdish people's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Kurdish guerrillas, people and many other nameless heroes that paid a price and had a major role in bringing the struggle up to this point today.

"Our martyrs have always been the source of our success up to date. We on behalf of Kurdish people will continue giving a struggle with the Apoist spirit in four parts of Kurdistan", Ayata said.

Describing the PKK as a movement of struggle for freedom and equality that leads the rebuilding and liberation of Kurdish people's life, Ayata said PKK is a people's party that has managed to revive the essence of a self-alienated community.

Speeches at the ceremony were followed by a music and theater performance.
