Guerrillas restore vandalized Peshmerga memorial poster in Choman

HPG guerrillas restored a vandalized memorial poster of a martyred peshmerga in Choman district of Hewlêr.

Xalid Teha Mûhammed Emîn was a peshmerga from Choman district of Hewlêr, who fell a martyr in battle with ISIS in Til Werdê village of Kirkuk on 31 January, 2015.

The family of Emîn filed a request last year to hang up their son's poster at a site by the road of Wesiyan village in the Kesrê sub-district of Choman. While the sub-district administration did not grant the permission for it, following 15 days of his family's insistence, Emîn's picture was finally hang up, but the picture was torn down and the billboard was destroyed by unknown persons later.

According to the locals, HPG guerrillas came and restored the vandalized memorial picture and place. The villagers took pictures of the guerrillas as they were placing the martyr's image into the former frame and setting up its surrounding anew.

The villagers stated that asayish forces affiliated to the the ruling KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) didn't let the poster of Emîn, a martyr of the PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan) to be hung up, for a long time and created difficulties.
