HDP Van Provincial Organization continued its electoral campaign
Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Van Provincial Organization continued its electoral campaign in Gürpınar, Edremit, Tuşba and İpekyolu, in the Province of Van.
HDP Van Provincial Co-Chairs Yadisen Karabulak, Ümit Dede, DBP Van Provincial Co-Chairs Ayla Tarhan, Ökkeş Kawa, party members, DTK Representatives, KJA Activists, Peace Mothers, district organizations joined the various rallies held on Sunday.
People welcomed the party delegation with halay (dance) and chants.
Tuşba
Tuşba district administration, HDP Provincial Co-Chair, Ümit Dede, toured the villages of Tuşba. Meetings were held in the villages of Hıdır (Xıdır), Ocaklı (Gom), Yemlice (Zorava), Akceylan (Axceylan).
Co-chairman Ümit Dede pointed out that the June 24th elections were an important date for the peoples. “We are asking you - said Dede - how do you want a new government to run and shape the future of this country”.
Several villagers spoke underlining the difficult situation they live in. They pointed out that economy is very bad: we have tractors but cannot fill the tank with diesel.
The HDP delegation went on to the villages of Ocaklı, Yemlice and Akceylan where people were waiting to meet the party’s representatives.
Gürpınar and Edremit
HDP Van Provincial Coordinator Yadisen Karabulak, DBP Van Provincial Co-Chair Ayla Tarhan and Gürpınar Municipality Co-Chair Yıldız Çetin visited residents in Edremit and Gürpınar. They met with people, handed out election leaflets and photos of HDP Presidential candidate Selahattin Demirtaş, who is in prison.
Ipekyolu
HDP Van Province Organization opened an election office in Ipekyolu. The opening was attended by a large crowd, chanting and dancing.
In addition, the Free Women's Movement (TJA) met with women living in the TOKI estate of Kevenli. Edremit Municipality's Co-Chair, Rojbin Çetin Sevil, underlined that the HDP has make an alliance with women. “In this process, - she said -women need to resist. Women will be the ones who will end this social and political chaos. And we will do that on 24 June”.
