The House of Êzîdîs active in the area of Mount Shengal has reacted to the recently implemented policies of the KDP.

Speaking to ANF on behalf of the House of Êzîdîs, Pîr Qero said Êzîdî people will not forget about KDP's betrayal, stressing that their fate cannot be left to political parties anymore.

'KDP LEFT THE PEOPLE ALONE'

The executive of the House of Êzîdîs, which is comprised of leaders of many tribes in the region, stated that; “Anyone that doesn't serve the Êzîdî faith should avoid harming it. We pursue the fair cause of our Êzîdî people. We have been betrayed and know very well who have enmity towards us. They are attempting to strengthen their hands on the Êzîdî people once again now. We are warning them to keep their hands off us. The KDP left us and fled without ever warning or organising the people or providing arms for them."

'THOSE WHO LEFT US INTO THE ARMS OF THE ENEMY CANNOT LIBERATE US'

Qero underlined that they will never forget about KDP's betrayal, adding; "It is meaningless that the KDP now forgets about the past and defends 'I will liberate Shengal' after leaving 17 thousand people - mothers, girls and children- into the arms of the enemy. As the leaders of the Êzîdî people and the House of Êzîdîs, we do not accept this attitude, and want to make clear that we will never forget about KDP's betrayal, nor let it be forgotten. We will no more lend ourselves to anyone's game.”

Qero also called upon the Êzîdî people to not allow anyone to bargain over them and to continue to pursue their fair cause in fraternity. "They left us and fled away. We will never accept or forget this reality. They should take their hands off Shengal which is our tomb and belongs only to the Êzîdî community. We will continue our struggle and not leave our land after liberation either."

'WE WILL NEVER FORGET PKK'S HELP AND MARTYRS'

Members of the House of Êzîdîs also said they will never forget about PKK's help and battle in Shengal at the cost of many martyrs.

The Êzîdî members stressed that they will never accept those who sold them out and betrayed them, adding that Shengal is not a property of Barzani and KDP.
