RojNews reports that the house of Oxiz Beg, a former peshmerga commander of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), was targeted by an attack on Tuesday.

The house of Oxiz Beg, a prominent figure in the Bradost region, is located in the village of Heyet in Berazgir plain.

Speaking about the attack, Oxiz Beg said, “This attack came because I did not submit to Turkey and the KDP, which dominate the region. I was a member of the PUK and a friend of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party). I did not engage in betrayal and bend to them. This is why they targeted and damaged my house. All the people in Balekayeti and Bradost know this well.”

Oxiz Beg stated that he does not have relations with the KDP, adding, “KDP leader Masoud Barzani’s nephew Behzad Lokman is stationed at this border. I don't have a talk with them. I am a Kurd and I did not engage in treason. This is why they attack in this manner. I would never engage in betrayal even if they paid me millions of dollars.”
