HPG: 14 soldiers killed, 4 others wounded in Çatak

HPG Press Office reported in a written statement that guerrillas carried out a sabotage action on Van – Çatak (Şax) road on August 5, which left 8 soldiers dead.
In another action, guerrillas hit a Turkish military unit after infiltrating into their emplacements in Geliyê Tızizê area of Çatak at 15:30 on August 8. Guerrillas hit three emplacements, which left 6 soldiers dead and 4 others wounded.
In the wake of the action, Turkish army started an operation in the area on August 9. Soldiers opened random fire on the surrounding areas before retreating the operation inconclusively the same day.
