The Press Centre of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information on the ongoing war in Kurdistan. According to the HPG statement, 18 more soldiers of the Turkish army were killed in guerrilla actions in the Medya Defense Zones on Monday. The guerrillas used heavy weapons, snipers and infiltration tactics and destroyed two radar systems and three Turkish positions in southern Kurdistan. The guerrillas' defences were attacked 15 times with helicopters, 24 times with fighter jets and three times with explosives, according to HPG data.
No casualties on Mount Cûdî
HPG denied reports spread in Turkish media about losses of the guerrillas in Northern Kurdistan, stating, "Fighter jets of the Turkish occupying state bombed the Cûdî area in Botan eleven times from 11 pm on 27 May until 9 am on 28 May. After the bombing, a military operation was launched, which was later suspended without results. The Turkish special war media reported that three of our comrades were killed in the operation. This information is not true. We did not suffer any casualties in this operation."
Eleven soldiers killed in Metîna
Regarding the latest situation in the embattled region of Metîna, HPG reported that the Turkish invasion forces at Girê Hekarî were struck by guerrillas twice with heavy weapons on Sunday. On Monday, the guerrillas intervened at the mountain peak against helicopters, which then withdrew.
At Girê FM, a soldier was shot dead by an HPG sniper early on Monday morning. A short time later, guerrilla fighters infiltrated a Turkish position from two flanks and attacked with firearms and hand grenades. The position and a radar installation were destroyed, and six soldiers were killed. When another Turkish unit tried to intervene, the guerrillas discovered another hidden position and destroyed it as well, killing three more soldiers. On the same day, a soldier was shot dead at Girê Cûdî.
Three soldiers killed in Zap region
In the Karker area of the Zap region, three soldiers were shot dead by snipers of the Free Women's Troops YJA Star. At the part of the Werxelê mountain range located in Zap, the advance of the invading troops to the guerrilla's tunnel facility was stopped with heavy weapons.
YJA Star action in Xakurke
The Turkish occupation forces at Girê Koordine in Şehîd Bêrîtan area in Xakurke were struck by guerrillas twice with heavy weapons on Sunday. On Monday, YJA Star guerrillas targeted a radar position with heavy weapons. The position was destroyed and four soldiers were killed.
Attacks by the Turkish army
HPG also reported ongoing Turkish attacks with explosives and chemical weapons against the guerrilla areas in Medya Defense Zones. Accordingly, the Turkish army bombed the battle tunnels in Werxelê Resistance Area three times this morning.
On Monday, Turkish troops shelled the areas of Girê Cûdî, Girê Amediyê, Saca, Çemço, Sîda and Rênçbiraxa with howitzer fire from border posts.
The areas of Girê Cûdî, Saca, Çemço and Sîda were shelled by fighter jets 13 times.
On Monday and Tuesday, the areas of Girê Cûdî, Girê FM, Girê Amediyê, Şehîd Şahîn, Çiyareş and Kurojahro Resistance Areas were bombed by attack helicopters 15 times.
