The press center of the People's Defense Forces HPG (Hêzên Parastina Gel) has published a review of the actions of the guerrillas in North and South Kurdistan. Accordingly, at least 21 Turkish soldiers were killed in Gever, Xozat and Lêlîkan.
The statement of the HPG reads as follows:
Lelikan, South Kurdistan
"On May 7, as part of the revolutionary offensive in memory of Şehîd (Martyr) Agirî and Şehîd Pîroz, our forces launched a large-scale action against the Turkish occupying army at Hill Lelikan in southern Kurdistan. At the same time positions of the Turkish forces were put under effective fire from four sides and completely destroyed. The death of at least 15 enemy soldiers was confirmed. Following the successful action, the occupying army carried out air and ground attacks on the area."
Gever, Hakkari
Regarding the action in the northern Kurdistan province of Hakkari (Colemêrg), in which three soldiers were killed, the balance sheet said:
"Also yesterday, guerrilla forces launched an attack on a troop unit based in the area of the Hill Sivri in the county town of Gever (Yüksekova). In this action three soldiers of the Turkish occupying army were killed."
Hozat, Dersim
Guerrillas against the occupiers also took action in Dersim province: "As part of the revolutionary offensive in memory of Şehîd Ozan and Şehîd Roza, our forces in the Dersim region carried out another action on 7 May. In an effective assault on the position of a secret unit of the Turkish occupying army near Amutka military outpost in Hozat (Xozat) district, three enemy soldiers were killed. Ground forces of the occupation army have removed their dead and injured from the area following the guerrilla action."
