HPG: 9 Turkish soldiers killed in Serhat region

The Press and Communications Center of People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BİM) released a statement providing information about recent actions carried out by guerrillas in Northern Kurdistan.
According to the statement, guerrillas hit a Turkish military convoy in between Iğdır’s Aralık district and Ağrı’s Bazid (Doğubeyazıt) district at 10:20 on April 4.
All the vehicles on the convoy came under intense fire, as a result of which one was destroyed and two others were damaged. 8 Turkish soldiers were killed in this action.
Two armored vehicles that rushed to the scene afterwards were also hit by guerrillas. A soldier operating an A4 heavy weaponry mounted on an armored vehicle was also killed here.
HPG said a total of 9 soldiers were killed in these actions and many more got wounded. Turkish units retrieved the dead and wounded soldiers from the area with armored vehicles in the wake of actions.
