HPG announced the names of four fighters who died in the resistance of Heftanin.
The Press Office of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) has announced the identity of four fighters who died in August in the resistance against the Turkish invasion in the South Kurdistan region of Heftanin. Ferman Mamyan and Mazlum Cûdî died in an air raid in Pirbula on August 9, while Warşîn Avaşîn and Sorxwîn Amed died in the heavy fighting that took place in the area on August 8 and 9. The HPG had already reported their deaths in earlier statements, but the exact details of their identities have been published today:
Nom de Guerre: Ferman Memyan |
Nom de Guerre: Mazlum Cudi |
Nom de Guerre: Warşin Avaşin |
Nom de Guerre: Sorxwin Amed |
Warşîn and Ferman came from the province of Amed (Diyarbakir) in Northern Kurdistan, Mazlum from Kamyaran in the province of Kurdistan in Iran and Sorxwîn from Afrin in Rojava (Western Kurdistan). All four have been resisting the Turkish occupation in Southern Kurdistan.
The HPG said the following in memory of the four martyrs: "With the invasion in Heftanin, the Turkish occupying state has added a new level to its murderous actions against the Kurdish people that have been going on for years. The guerrillas meet the collaborators and jihadists with sacrificial resistance. Just as the inhuman ISIS was razed to the ground, these courageous members of the Kurdish people are fighting with the same will against the Turkish state, which is the sponsor of the jihadists.”
According to the statement, the martyrs inflicted heavy losses on the enemy in Pirbula and proved once again the "unshakable will of the Apoist militants".
HPG expressed their sympathy to the families and patriotic people and vowed to keep the memory of the martyrs alive in their struggle.
