HPG denies statements by Turkish minister about guerrilla casualties

HPG denied statements by Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar about alleged guerrilla casualties in the Zap region and stated that none of them even had nosebleeds.

The People's Defence Forces (HPG) released a statement denying Turkish reports of alleged guerrilla casualties and warning the civilian population in the Cûdî region not to enter the guerrilla areas. The statement released by the HPG Press Centre on Sunday includes the following:

"The Turkish colonial state is sending agents to the Cûdî region in Botan under the pretext of opening new mines as well as for hunting. Despite hundreds of occupation operations with the participation of thousands of forces, the Turkish occupying army cannot achieve any results against the guerrillas and is once again trying to achieve its aims with dirty war methods. In order to carry out the necessary measures in the Cûdî region against collaborating agents who both commit looting and develop denunciation, we call on our patriotic people not to approach the military guerrilla areas."

Minister Hulusi Akar lies

"The Turkish occupying army has suffered a heavy blow due to the revolutionary operation and further actions of our forces in the Zap region. In order to hide their defeat and to deceive the public, false reports are circulated every day which have no basis. Most recently, Special War Minister Hulusi Akar told the lie that twenty guerrilla fighters had been killed. He was applauded for this by his fascist supporters. However, his statements are completely based on lies. Even the special war media of the fascist AKP/MHP regime did not believe this lie of Akar and did not report about it. We inform once again that in the recent successful actions in the Zap, none of our companions even bled their noses."

Turkish army attacks on Medya Defence Zones

HPG further said that on Saturday, the village of Sêdarê in the Meyrokê area in Gare was bombed six times by fighter jets. In the Zap region, the areas of Çemço and Sîda were attacked by fighter jets and howitzers.
