People's Defense Forces Press Office (HPG-BIM) reported in a written statement that the Turkish army operation at the border of Avashin region in PKK-held Medya Defense Zones continues.

HPG-BIM said the operation reached a new dimension with a fresh wave of attacks on Martyr Rahime area at 22:00 on October 21.

According to the statement, guerrillas immediately responded to this attack that targeted their positions where clashes took place in addition to the intense bombardments conducted by Turkish jets. HPG said detailed information about the offensive on this area will be made public once made clear.

The Peyanıs guard post in Hakkari carried out uninterrupted howitzer and mortar attacks on Kato Marinos area at 11:40 on October 22.

The operation started by the Turkish army in the areas of Goçera, Gunde Gohate and Gundê Bılbesi in Şırnak's Beytüşşebap district on October 21 was retreated at 15:30 one day later. During the retreat, soldiers threatened to burn the Gohate village to the ground in the event that villagers happened to vote for HDP once again.

HPG said the operation launched by Turkish army in Mawa area of Şırnak on October 21 also continues. Turkish troops intervened the vigil action near Martyr Kendal Martyrs' Cemetery and detained 20 human shields here. Soldiers later demolished the graveyard with bulldozers. According to the statement, HPG guerrillas conducted a retaliatory action against a military convoy near Mir Ali village located on the road between Amed and its Farqin (Silvan) district at 07:50 on October 22. Five soldiers were killed in the action which was carried out in memory of the eight guerrillas martyred in Turkish airstrikes in the area of martyrs' cemetery in Lice on October 10.

The Turkish army operation in Çiyayê Şerefdin area of Bingöl's Karlıova district also continues. Turkish helicopters conducted uninterrupted bombardments from 21:30 October 22 till this morning.
