On Tuesday evening, People's Defence Forces (HPG) guerrilla fighter Uğur Acet was laid to rest in the northern Kurdish province of Batman. Uğur Acet lost his life in combat with the Turkish army on 20 October near the district of Çatak in Van province. His body was handed over to his family from the morgue of a hospital in Van on Tuesday morning.
The fallen guerrilla fighter was buried immediately in the evening. Many people attended the funeral. However, the police initially refused entry to the cemetery to all except the family. After insisting on entry, the crowd was allowed to enter the graveyard. At the same time, more and more people also gathered in front of the cemetery. The guerrilla fighter was seen off with great sympathy.
