HPG Press Office released a statement announcing details of the most recent actions carried out by guerrillas in southern and northern Kurdistan territory.
Within the scope of the Martyr Piroz and Marty Agiri Revolutionary Campaign, on May 10 and 11 guerrilla forces carried out comprehensive actions against the occupying Turkish army, and many soldiers were killed.
According to the statement, on May 11 at 06.30 hours, guerrilla forces carried out an action against the invaders positioned on Hill Xwede in the Barzan region within the territory of Southern Kurdistan.
“Three positions were entirely destroyed in this action where the enemy positions and shelters on the hill were put under intense fire from two arms, and 10 enemy soldiers have been identified killed. Following the action, the invading Turkish army bombed the area indiscriminately with howitzer and mortar shells.”
In the morning hours of the same day, guerrilla forces carried out an action against invaders on the Xeregol hill in Hakkari’s Çele (Çukurca) district. Two Turkish soldiers have been identified killed in their positions which were effectively hit.
The statement continued; “On the same day, at 16.00, our forces targeted Xeregol hill for the second time. One of the enemy’s shelters which were put under intense fire on four arms were destroyed. Two enemy soldiers were identified killed in this action. Following the action, the invading forces bombed the area with howitzer and mortar shells.
On May 10, at 15.00, our forces carried out an action against the occupying Turkish army in the Deştane area of Çele district once again. Two positions were destroyed in this action where the zone positioned by the enemy was effectively hit on four arms. Eight enemy soldiers were identified killed in this action, while seven other soldiers were wounded. Following the action, the invading Turkish army bombed the area with howitzer and mortar shells.
On May 10, the occupying Turkish army launched an operation in the Deriye Beroj zone in the Risor area of Şırnak province. Within the scope of the Martyr Delal Amed and Besta Martyrs Revolutionary Campaign, our forces carried out a sabotage action against the operation units on the same day. Two enemy soldiers, including one sergeant, was killed in the targeted enemy units.”
