 Code name: Çiçek Şiya Amed

 Place of birth: Amed

Names of mother and father: Hayriye – Murat

Date and place of death: June 28, 2024 / Metîna

Çiçek Şiya Amed was born in Lice and grew up in an environment close to the Kurdish freedom movement. As the HPG reports in the obituary, she had personal encounters with the guerrillas in her early youth and felt particularly empowered by the female fighters. She was angry about the oppression of her people and rejected the classic role of women in society. Guerrillas were role models for her. As a high school student, she became involved in the revolutionary youth movement and took on tasks that required discipline.

In 2015, Çiçek went to the mountains and joined a guerrilla group. She stayed in North Kurdistan for a while and came to the Medya Defense Areas for basic training. During the training and the period that followed, she dealt intensively with the women's liberation ideology, the history of women and the content of Jineolojî. This gave her a new awareness of her own reality and her responsibility as a revolutionary. She paid attention to behaviors that testified to a thinking based on male domination and, in this sense, waged a tireless ideological struggle.

In order to strengthen her skills at the military level, she took part in specialist training. She developed into an accomplished fighter in the YJA Star and took on responsible tasks.

The HPG described Çiçek Şiya Amed as a pioneering and courageous militant who was closely connected to her fellow fighters and left an unforgettable legacy. "We give our word that we will continue their struggle until victory," the statement said.
