Serxwebûn Timoq

Serxwebûn Timoq was born in Timoqî in the northern Kurdish province of Batman (Êlih) and grew up in his village in an environment close to the Kurdish freedom movement. Many people from the village of Timoqî and the tribe of the same name to which Serxwebûn belonged have joined the movement.

Serxwebûn dreamed of becoming a guerrilla from an early age. He made various attempts, but because he was still too young, his request was initially rejected. Still, he didn't give up. During his high school years, he became more aware of the reality of Kurdistan. During the resistance against the ISIS attack on Kobanê in 2014, he attended funerals of fallen guerrillas and vowed revenge. In the same year, he joined the guerrillas in Garzan.

Serxwebûn underwent basic training in Avaşîn and prepared ideologically and militarily for his future tasks. He had his first experiences in guerrilla life in Avaşîn and, through his persistent and selfless efforts, he managed to overcome the difficult conditions in the Zagros Mountains.

In 2015, he went to the “Şehîd Mehmet Goyî” operational school and then fought again in Avaşîn. After two and a half years, he went to Zap and took part in various successful actions against the Turkish army. In 2019, he was wounded in an enemy attack, and in 2020 he completed the ideological training at the Haki Karer Academy. He studied Abdullah Öcalan's ideology. He then wanted to go back to the war zone, but was assigned to other tasks. The HPG described Serxwebûn Timoq as the best example of how an apoist militant can change and develop positively.

Renas Amed

Rênas Amed was born in Afrin and grew up under the influence of the Rojava revolution based on democracy, social ecology and free women. He witnessed the fight against Islamist mercenaries and wanted to take part in this resistance.

The Apoist militants he met in Rojava made a lasting impression on him. He dealt with the content of the Kurdish freedom movement and joined an armed unit in Afrin. This enabled him to develop militarily and ideologically. He took part in the defense of the region against Islamist attacks and fought on the front line against the Turkish army and its jihadist mercenary troops in Afrin in 2018. He then decided to continue his fight in the mountains.

Rênas Amed was deeply attached to his martyr comrades and quickly took the initiative in the mountains, even though he was still new to the guerrillas. He was very disciplined and fought fearlessly and self-sacrificingly against the enemy. He was given responsible tasks. After specialized military training at the Şehîd Mahîr Academy, he went to the war zone in 2021 at his own suggestion to defend the Medya Defense Areas against Turkish occupation attacks. After many successful actions in which the Turkish forces suffered heavy casualties, he fell as a martyr in an enemy attack at the beginning of the year.
