HPG releases balance sheet of war for October

HPG stated that the Turkish state's war against the Kurdish movement and people has reached an unrestrained level today, waged in despair to the extend of launching bombardments against the cemeteries of martyrs.

People's Defense Forces Press Office (HPG-BIM) has released the balance sheet of war for the month of October.

HPG stated that the Turkish state's war against the Kurdish movement and people has reached an unrestrained level today, waged in despair to the extend of launching bombardments against the cemeteries of martyrs, a primary value of the Kurdish people.

Remarking that the attacks of intimidation and annihilation conducted by this despotic mindset went much beyond the practices of the 90's, HPG said the massacre attempts of Erdoğan, AKP and the special army has been responded by the Kurdish people and democratic circles by enhancing their struggle and self-organisation.

The statement by HPG underlined that Erdoğan's special military forces have increased their operations and attacks despite the ongoing position of inaction by guerrillas since October 10, noting that operations of the Turkish state in North Kurdistan and guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones were, however, frustrated by the determined stance of guerrilla forces.

According to the statement, Turkish military forces have taken advantage of the retreat of guerrillas from the areas where they held control of the roads, and managed to enter these terrains two months later only after the withdrawal of guerrillas. Turkish forces have launched fresh operations in these regions, such as Dersim-Erzincan and Hakkari-Çukurca route, and expanded these operations to a wider territory across Kurdistan.

HPG noted that the Turkish military used all the technical means available in an attempt to make advances in Çarçela-Oramar (Geliye Doski-Binbir) area since September 26, but have failed in the face of the field-domination held by guerrillas. The statement said the Turkish army suffered heavy losses in this region and hid the actual number its casualties by means of the pro-war Turkish media.

HPG underlined that guerrilla forces have disappointed and failed the plans of the Turkish state and army by putting up heroic resistance across the Kurdistan territory.
