People's Defense Forces Press Office HPG-BIM has reported intensified attacks by the Turkish army against guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory.

HPG said in a written statement that the Turkish army operations in Oremar area of Hakkari's Yüksekova district is going on.

TWO SOLDIERS KILLED IN RETALIATORY ACTION IN AVASHIN

HPG said guerrillas have responded to the attacks with a retaliatory action against the Turkish troops deployed around Hill Martyr Bager at the border to Avashin region of Medya Defense Zones this morning.

While two soldiers were killed in the action, clashes between two sides are going on in the area where Turkish army furthermore perform intense reconnaissance activities and conducted a bombardment with cluster bombs.

According to the statement, Turkish troops also attempted to enter the Hill Martyr Rahime at 16:30 yesterday, upon which they were effectively hit by guerrillas and forced to retreat a short while later.

While Sikorsky type helicopters airdropped soldiers in Oremar guard post and Gomankê hill between 00.00 – 05.30 last night, the area of Hill Martyr Rahime was also shelled with howitzer and mortar fire.

On the other hand, Turkish jets conducted a bombardment over;

- Martyr Rahime and Martyr Bager areas between 12.30 – 13.30,

- Govendê area between 14.00 – 14.30

- Martyr Rahime area between 18.30 – 21.30

- Martyr Gafur area between 19.00 - 20.30 yesterday.

ATTACKS ON MEDYA DEFENSE ZONES CONTINUE

According to the HPG statement, troops at Mamreş guard post at the border to Avashin shelled the surrounding areas with tanks between 14.00 – 16.00 yesterday.

Troops at Sinek guard post and Gülyazi Artillery Regiment at Heftanin border shelled Deriyê Davetiya, Bektorya, Kato Sile areas between 13.00 – 16.00 yesterday.

Troops at Hill Serbest and Şıvan guard posts shelled Hill Partizan area with tanks between 06.30 – 08.30 today.

Troops at Hill Sor guard post shelled Hill Martyr Şoreş, Hill Martyr Mazlum and Hill Hakkari areas between 09.30 – 10.30 today.

HPG reported an intense reconnaissance activity over;

Amediyê - Gundê Mıjê-Sergelê area between 13.00 – 16.00 yesterday,

Garê area between 15.00 – 16.00 yesterday,

Metina area between 12.00 – 00.00 yesterday,

Zap region between 23:00 yesterday and 04:30 today.

HPG also listed an activity of Turkish jets over the following areas;

Xakurkê area between 11.30 – 14.00,

Qandil region between 12.00 – 14.00,

Metina area between 12.30 – 00.00,

Zap region between 20.00 – 23.00 yesterday.

ONE GUERRILLA DIED IN DERSİM

HPG-BIM announced the following ID details of a guerrilla who lost his life as a result of an ambush by Turkish soldiers near Rojmek village of Dersim at 15:00 on October 31.
