People's Defense Forces Press Office HPG-BIM said in a written statement that Turkish troops bombed Hill Martyr Rojin in Binbir area of Hakkari's Yüksekova district in the evening of October 18. The entire Binbir area was also shelled with howitzer and mortar fire yesterday as military activity of the Turkish army in the region continues.
Guerrillas conducted a retaliatory action against Eriş guard post at the border to Zap region of PKK-held Medya Defense Zones between 10.30 – 11.00 on October 18 in response to the attack launched from the post with heavy weapons against guerrilla areas.
One emplacement in the post was completely destroyed and a watchtower was damaged as a result of effective hits by guerrillas, while the casualties couldn't be made clear.
The area of Cudi was shelled by Turkish jets at 11:30 on October 18, and also targeted by intense bombardments from Bespin and Guryan guard posts from early morning hours till 20:00 in the evening. The inconclusive attacks by the Turkish army against the area continue.
The Turkish army has retreated the operation in Martyr Kendal area of Amed yesterday.
HPG said a truck belonging to a foundation was burned by a contra group on the road between Bitlis and its Baykan district at 06:00 on October 14, and denied any involvement by guerrillas in this incident which is being tried to be attributed to them.
According to newly verified information, HPG said 1 soldier was killed and two others were wounded in a clash between guerrillas and Turkish troops in Kop district of Muş on October 17 as the Turkish army operation in the area continued since the 12th.
The operation of Turkish troops in Xarçik and Xengırvan areas of Dersim continues. Reconnaissance flights were performed over the region at 12:00 yesterday.
HPG said a guerrilla lost his life after falling into Munzur River and getting dragged there while on his way for a duty on October 17. His body was found by the local people and later taken by soldiers.
