People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Press Office has reported ongoing attacks by Turkish troops as well as intense clashes in Binbir area of Hakkari's Yüksekova district since October 13. According to HPG Press Office, Turkish soldiers shot each other as they got into a panic in the operation they started in Şenkaya district of Erzurum on October 11.
Regarding the ongoing offensive of Turkish troops in Binbir area, HPG reported that 3 soldiers were killed in the clashes that broke out near Hill Martyr Fikret yesterday morning. Turkish army conducted intense aerial bombardment on the scene after suffering heavy losses in this area.
Renewed clashes broke out between guerrillas and Turkish soldiers that launched an attack from around the hill at 18:00 yesterday evening.
While the Turkish army suffered many casualties, four HPG guerrillas lost their lives and seven others were wounded in the ongoing fighting, the details of which will be released once made clear.
Turkish troops joined by the military forces from emplacements in Şırnak and Silopi have started an extensive operation against Cudi area on October 10. Turkish forces deployed tanks and armored vehicles in the hills of Yıldız, Sırtê Keça and Şkêrê Kera and attempted to enter the area from over Hill Çılmêra and Derîyê Cebra areas.
Fierce clashes broke out at 10:00 and lasted until 18:00 as Turkish soldiers attempted to advance from Sefinê area but were hindered by guerrillas. Turkish troops were forced to retreat from the area after the failure of intense bombardments against guerrilla bases. Two soldiers were killed in the fighting in this area.
Separate clashes erupted between guerrillas and soldiers that started to head towards the cemetery of guerrillas in Bêrmêda area at 18:00 on October 12. The Turkish troops here were also forced to retreat as a result of effective hits by guerrillas in response to the intense attacks.
HPG refuted the reports by pro-war Turkish media that one soldier died and three others were wounded in the mentioned area, and informed that the actual number of casualties suffered by the Turkish army is much higher.
Despite the position of inaction on the side of guerrillas, the Turkish army conducted intense reconnaissance flights over the area, in coordination of which Bespın military post in Silopi and Mıllê Gurya military post in Cizre continuously shelled the Cudi area and its surroundings. One HPG guerrilla wounded in clashes in this area died later.
The Turkish troops stationed in Lice and those on Hill Zarge in Lice-Hani -Kocaköy triangle area of Amed shelled Martyr Rojhat and Martyr Navdar areas with howitzers and tanks at between 18:45 and 19:45 on October 13, according to the information provided by the HPG.
Turkish troops started another operation after an airdrop of soldiers in the rural areas of Nıstık, Adgom and Eli Guleka villages in Kop district of Muş at 06:00 on October 12. The details of the fighting here will be reported by HPG Press Office later.
TURKISH SOLDIERS IN ERZURUM SHOT EACH OTHER IN PANIC
The Turkish army launched another operation against Martry Sidar Cemetery in Şenkaya district of Erzurum on October 11.
While guerrillas avoided an intervention despite noticing the operational forces here, Turkish soldiers shot each other in panic, said the HPG, refuting the Turkish media reports that the two were killed by HPG members.
