HPG reports ongoing guerrilla actions and Turkish military operations

HPG announced that guerrillas carried out actions in Şırnak and Hakkari, and the Turkish army launched an operation in Şırnak’s Cudi region.

HPG Press Office issued a written statement on the recent actions by guerrillas and operations by Turkish army in North Kurdistan.

In its statement, HPG said that guerrillas carried out an action against the Turkish soldiers positioned at the Hopê hill of Hakkari’s Yüksekova district around 09:30 on November 24, and the number of dead and injured soldiers couldn't be clarified.

HPG recalled that the Turkish army had launched an operation in Şırnak’s Cudi region on November 23, and expanded this operation to the areas of Nêwawa, Kursêkeça and Gundıkremo on November 24. Turkish soldiers shelled the region and warplanes bombarded Navser area on the same day.

Guerrillas carried out a sabotage action against the soldiers at Kursêkeça hillside around 07:30 on November 24, as a result of which 1 soldier was killed, and 2 soldiers and 3 counter-guerrillas were injured.

Guerrillas also hit a group of soldiers participating in an operation near Kıkerê village, and the number of dead and injured soldiers couldn't be clarified. The Turkish army retrieved the bodies of dead and injured soldiers with Sikorsky helicopters.
