HPG: Six members of counter-guerrilla forces killed in Gever

HPG stated that six members of Turkish counter-guerrilla forces were killed in Gever, Hakkari.

People’s Defense Forces Press and Communications Center (HPG-BIM) released a statement providing information about the recent actions carried out by guerrillas in Northern Kurdistan.

GEVER

According to the statement, guerrillas hit a vehicle carrying six members of Turkish counter-guerrilla forces after it left a Turkish outpost under construction in between Kendalokê and Alyawa villages in Hakkari’s Gever (Yüksekova) district at 19:00 on March 28 evening. After an effective strike, the vehicle got off the road and fell into a river, as a result of which all the six were killed.

ÇUKURCA

At 13:30 on March 29, guerrillas carried out an action targeting the Koordine Hill where Turkish soldiers were stationed in Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district. The target was struck effectively and one emplacement of the soldiers on the hill was destroyed. The number of soldiers killed or wounded here couldn’t be clarified.

At March 28 noon, guerrillas carried out another action against Turkish troops on Şungırê hill in Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district. Positions of the Turkish forces came under intense fire and the number of soldiers killed or wounded here couldn’t be clarified.
