HPG: Two Turkish soldiers killed in Avashin

Guerrillas carried out multiple actions against the occupiers in Werxele area of Avashin. The occupiers received a nasty blow and were forced to retreat one level back.

 

The People’s Defense Forces Press Center released a statement on the invasion attacks of the Turkish army and the latest actions of the HPG/YJA Star guerrilla forces in Kurdistan territory.

The statement included the following:

“Within Cenga Xabur Revolutionary Offensive in Heftanin Region,

Our forces targeted the occupiers deployed on Martyr Berxwedan hill in Xantur Zone at 11.00 on July 11. During our action, the targets were hit right on the mark while the number of the killed and injured occupiers could not be determined.

Within Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Offensive in Avashin region,

The occupant Turkish army intended to place explosives and cameras around the war tunnels in Werxele zone on July 10. In consequence of our forces’ intervention, the explosives were counteracted and cameras were seized.

At 08.00 on July 11, the occupiers seeking to move towards the war tunnels in Werxele zone were taken under control by our forces and were shot at close range with light weapons. While 2 were killed here, the occupiers retreated one level back after receiving a blow.

The invading Turkish army conducted an attack with explosives on the war tunnels in Gire Sor and intensely used chemical gas at 09.30 on July 11.

Helicopter activity took place over the Mamreşo, Tabura Ereban, Banista and Mervanos areas between the hours 21.00-23.00, and over Metina region between 22.00-00.00 on July 11. The vicinities of the Hirore, Edine, Deşişe Derare and Seraru villages and the Kela Qûmriyê area were bombarded.

Deşta Kafya area in Gare region was bombed by warplanes at 16.55 on July 11.

Fighter jets bombed the Kurjehro area in Zap region at 09.40 on July 11 and the Kunişka area at 05.45 on July 12.  

Our forces suffered no losses during the mentioned attacks.”
