The People's Defense Centre (HSM) Headquarters Command congratulated the “guerrilla forces that dealt heavy blows” on the Turkish army in Çiyaye Reş and Kurojahro in the Zap province. The HSM said that the guerrillas taught a “historical lesson” to the Turkish army.

In its written statement addressed to the “Medya Defense Zones Administration Command”, the HSM emphasized “the belief that the great successes achieved in the Revolutionary Revenge Operations will be crowned with new victories.”

The statement of the HSM includes the following:

“The fascist Turkish army which has mobilized all its means in its invasion attacks on our Zap and Avaşin areas has reached a serious stalemate before our guerrilla forces who are inspired by the Apoist spirit of self-sacrifice. Our professional guerrilla forces are making history in the regions of Zap and Avaşin, putting up an outstanding struggle against the genocidal Turkish army, both with their creative style in the battle tunnels and the sophisticated hitting style of our mobile teams. Most recently, our guerrilla forces inflicted a heavy blow on the invading Turkish army in order to avenge our martyrs in the Çiyaye Reş and Kurojahro Resistance Areas in the Zap province. The Turkish army was given an unforgettable historical lesson by our forces.

As part of the Bazên Zagrosê Revolutionary Campaign, the coordinated raid of the Şehit Sema Hesekê and Şehit Serdem Reşit mobile teams against the invading enemy forces who wanted to position themselves in Girê Cehennem in the Çiyareş Resistance Area on May 24 was carried out with great success and yielded results. On the same day, a heavy blow was dealt to the enemy forces positioned in the Kurojahro Resistance Area following a coordinated infiltration action carried out by the Şehit Mizgîn Ronahi vengeance teams. In both areas, our forces not only inflicted heavy blows on the enemy forces, but also confiscated their military materials and weapons. These successful actions, carried out in memory of our heroic martyrs, clearly demonstrate the level reached by the new guerrilla warfare of the HPG, despite the use of chemical weapons by the Turkish army and all their advanced war technology.

We commemorate Comrade Mahir Mazlum who fought the enemy forces with great courage and played an important role in action, with great respect and love, and we promise him to crown our struggle with victory. We congratulate all the commanders and fighter comrades who contributed to these actions both in the Çiyareş Resistance Area and in the Kurojahro area. We reiterate our belief that the great successes achieved in these Revolutionary Revenge Operations in the Kurajahro and Çiyareş Resistance Areas will be crowned with new victories. We wish success to all comrades who are carrying out a historic struggle in our Avaşin and Zap areas.”
