HDP member Nasır Yağız has been on an indefinite hunger strike in Hewler (Erbil) since November 21, 2018 demanding an end to the isolation regime imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Despite his deteriorating health, Yağız remains determined to continue his fast which is on 93rd day now.
Doctors observing Nasır Yağız report health problems such as dizziness, low blood pressure, stomachache and weakening blood stream. Yağız calls on everyone to join the struggle.
Another indefinite and non-alternating hunger strike is taking place in the Maxmur Refugee Camp where Ishtar Women’s Council member Fadile Tok has been fasting since January 20. On the 33rd day of her hunger strike, Tok is experiencing blood pressure issues and physical exhaustion.
