Paksoy got wounded in Nur neighborhood on 14 January, and he remained in the area for 4 days as no ambulance was allowed into the neighborhood on grounds of security. Cizre Municipality's ambulance was allowed to reach him only yesterday noon upon an interim injunction by the European Court of Human Rights. The ambulance found a dead body in the neighborhood, which was therewith retrieved from the scene and taken to Cizre State Hospital. The body was later confirmed to be belonging to Hüseyin Paksoy.
The youth's body has been taken to Şırnak State Hospital earlier today where a post-mortem examination was performed on his body after identification by family. He was later taken to his hometown, Uludere district of Şırnak, with a long convoy which was also joined by HDP MP Abdullah Geylan and executives of HDP and DBP provincial organisations.
Thousands welcomed Paksoy in Uludere and carried his coffin to cemetery for burial. "Martyrs are immortal" and "Murderer Erdoğan" were the main slogans chanted by the people joining the funeral.
Hüseyin's father Hacı Mehmet Paksoy offered condolences to the people of Kurdistan.
