Arîn Bargiran
Arîn Bargiran was born into a Kurdish nomadic family in Siirt and belonged to the Alikî tribe. Since many people from her environment joined the Kurdish liberation movement, she knew the PKK as a child. Her family's political stance had an impact on her socialization. She felt that the oppression of the Kurdish people was a great injustice and sympathized with the resistance against their own extermination. When her uncle was killed defending the Yazidi community against ISIS in 2014, she made the decision to continue his fight with the guerrillas. She completed her basic training at Mount Gabar. After that, she went to Şengal at her own request and fought against ISIS. "With every bullet she fired against the Islamists, she took revenge for the murdered and enslaved Yazidis," HPG said. After the liberation of Şengal, Arîn returned to the mountains and participated in the resistance against the Turkish occupation forces in Heftanîn with great determination for two years. Most recently, she fought in Metîna.
Sarîna Amed
Sarîna Amed was born in Çınar in the province of Amed (tr. Diyarbakir). Although she grew up in Kurdistan, she could barely speak her native language and encountered ever-increasing contradictions in the ruling system as a teenager. In 2014, she joined the guerrillas.
In her basic training, Sarîna intensively examined her own reality as a woman and a Kurdish woman and discovered the strength of women. HPG described her as a talented woman who created value in her environment with great dedication and was considered an exemplary militant.
Simko Serhildan
Simko Serhildan was born in Banê in Eastern Kurdistan. His family was attached to Kurdish culture and he grew up in a patriotic atmosphere on the Iran-Iraq state border between Eastern and Southern Kurdistan. Therefore, he was aware early on that his country was divided into four parts and that his people were subjected to numerous massacres. His first movement with the Kurdish guerrillas represented a turning point in his life. Under the impression of comradeliness and the determined liberation struggle, he joined the guerrillas in 2014. In the mountains, he received ideological and military training and developed into a selfless militant. Later, he improved his knowledge at a guerrilla military academy and became a commander.
Çiya Serêkaniyê
Çiya Serêkaniyê came from the city of Serêkaniyê in Rojava, which is now part of the Turkish occupied zone in northern Syria. He grew up under the influence of the Rojava revolution and joined the guerrillas in 2016 to fight professionally for freedom. He defined the mountains as liberated areas and he showed great dedication to educating himself militarily and ideologically. HPG described him as a hardworking and humble person who enjoyed great respect in his environment.
