Iraqi warplanes conducted a strike in an area between Shengal and Rabia late Friday evening.
Warplanes and helicopters of the Iraqi army shelled a group of ISIS members between Racm-Abud and Xazûka villages in Shengal's Sinunê town under control of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) late Friday evening.
According to reports, the airstrike targeted a group of ISIS members that tried to cross from Tal Afar into Turkey through Zakho. It is claimed that Iraqi helicopters struck a wasteland close to peshmerga positions.
Reports suggest that the villagers that wanted to go to the scene following the bombardment were obstructed by the peshmerga, and peshmergas suffered no casualties from the airstrike.
It grabbed attention that KDP media claimed the airstrike to have been conducted by Turkish jets.
