ISIS gangs launched an attack to invade the villages of Avaya Mensur and Dara in Hefteğar hamlet, Dahuk district of Kirkuk. Having already invaded the villages of Avaye Ferix and Avaya - two of the four villages in Dahuk- ISIS gangs have also occupied the village of Avaya Mensur.
According to local sources, ISIS gangs settled in the central control point which was previously used as Iraqi Federal Police headquarters after they invaded the village. The gangs set up a checkpoint here and banned the people from leaving the village.
After invading the village and setting up a control point, ISIS groups went into action to invade the Dara village. According to reports, the gangs entered the village but don’t have full control over it yet.
Dara village is located between Dahok and Tuz Khurmatu, and is only one kilometer to the Kirkuk-Baghdad road. Invasion of the village by ISIS could cause the Kirkuk-Tikrit road to be blocked.
