Yekineyên Berxwedana Şengalê (Shengal Resistance Units, YBŞ), Yekîneyên Parastîna Jinen Şengalê (Women's Defense Units, YPJ-Shengal), Hêzên Parastina Şengalê (Shengal Defense Units, HPŞ) have announced establishment of a Joint Command under the name of 'Fermandariya Êzidxana Ji Bo Rizgariya Şengal'.

Speaking at the joint press conference, YBŞ General Commander Mazlum Şengal called upon all forces in Shengal to struggle under the roof of the 'Joint Command', saying; "We have long held talks with forces in Shengal for the liberation of the town, but some forces didn't treat these talks positively. Yet, we as the three forces taking part in Shengal resistance since the genocide have established a joint command under the name of 'Fermandariya Êzidxana Ji Bo Rizgariya Şengal'. YBŞ, YPJ-Shengal and HPŞ have united under a joint command for the liberation of Shengal and the Sacred Êzidxanê (Ezidi Land). We expect the other major forces fighting in Shengal- PKK, YNK and KDP- to support us for the liberation of the Ezidi town."

'LIBERATION OF SHENGAL IS THE LIBERATION OF KURDISTAN'

Remarking that the struggle for the liberation of Shengal was not the duty of Êzîdî forces alone, YBŞ General Commander said the liberation of Kurdistan and the Middle East depended on the liberation of Shengal, adding; "We expect support to Shengal resistance from not only Êzîdî forces but all the circles claiming to be humans. All forces should take place in the struggle for the liberation of Shengal which also means the liberation of Kurdistan and the Middle East. We expect support from everyone in consideration of the fact that Shengal is one of the places where human history first began and the sense of community was first developed. In order for the liberation of these sacred lands, we call upon all the forces in Shengal to act under the Joint Command we have established, which is the only way to liberate Shengal. We promise our people that we will struggle in order for them to live freely in their liberated lands."

YPJ-SHENGAL: WE CALL FOR A JOINT STRUGGLE

YPJ-Shengal Commander Bêrîvan Axîn said they as Êzîdî Women's Units will also take part within this Joint Command, and called upon all forces to unite under it for the freedom of the Êzîdî women who remain captive in the hands of ISIS and for the liberation of the Sacred Êzidxanê.

'SHENGAL CAN BE LIBERATED THROUGH UNITY'

HPŞ founding member Haydar Şeşo also called upon all the forces fighting for the Sacred Êzidxanê to unite under the roof of the Joint Command, stressing that ensuring a unity of all forces was the only way to liberate Shengal from ISIS gangs.

Describing the establishment of the Joint Command as a sacred and historic step, Şeşo said they have joined this 'Fermandariya Êzidxana ji bo Rizgariya Şengal' with their own logo and symbol, adding; "All the other forces should in the same way unite under this roof because Shengal belongs to all of us and our Joint Command will play its role for its liberation. We expect all the Kurdistanî forces, PKK, YNK and KDP in the first place, to provide support and fulfill their responsibilities in this regard."

'WE PROMISE TO LIBERATE SHENGAL'

Speaking once again after the statements, YBŞ General Commander Mazlum Şengal reiterated their promise to the people that they will be acting within the scope of the 'Initiative to Liberate Shengal' and wave their flags in every areas where they make advances and seize the control.

YBŞ General Commander once again called upon all the Kurdistanî forces and coalition forces to support them within the 'Initiative to Liberate Shengal'.
