KCK Executive Council Co-presidency stated that the AKP-MHP led Turkish state has shown their cooperation with ISIS once again by attacking Qereçox.
The statement said: “The attacks against Qereçox, Kirkuk and Afrin have shown what the Kurdish people’s stance should be towards the Turkish state.”
On their stance towards the Turkish state, KCK said: “As the Kurdish Freedom Movement, we will fight against the fascist AKP-MHP government that is an enemy to all Kurds, we will push back the attacks of this government and we will remove this obstacle from the path to a free and democratic life for all the peoples of Kurdistan and the peoples of te Middle East.”
The statement also commemorated the victims of the April 24, 1915 Armenian Genocide. The statement signed by the KCK Executive Council Co-presidency is as follows:
MARTYRS COMMEMORATED
“One year ago, Turkish state’s fighter jets bombed the YPG headquarters in Rojava, and 18 YPG fighters were martyred. We remember the martyred Kurdish fighters, may they rest in peace. Around the same time in the Medya Defense Zones, a fighter jet attack martyred the great revolutionary Bedran Gundikremo and four patriotic militias from Botan. We remember these martyrs with respect and gratitude as well.
TURKISH STATE IS A PARTNER IN CRIME WITH ISIS
“The first reason behind the Qereçox Headquarters attack was animosity against Kurds, and the second was that the YPG is the most effective force against ISIS. The time of the Qereçox attack was when YPG fought hard against ISIS. Fighters martyred in the Turkish state attack were added to the thousands of martyrs who fell in the war against ISIS. Thus, the AKP-MHP fascist government has shown once again that they are partners in crime with ISIS.
The YPG has pushed back invasion attacks by fascist gangs like Al Nusra and ISIS against Rojavayê Kurdîstan and Northern Syria and created the free lands on which the democratic revolution has been actualized. The YPG has turned Northern Syria into an oasis of women’s liberatory democracy. The AKP-MHP fascism has deemed the liberation of Kurds and the Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs and other ethnic groups creating their democratic self-governments with the understanding of a democratic nation to be a threat to their own genocidal nation state ideology. They were afraid this beautiful structure would be an example against the fascist and ugly regime in Turkey. For these two fundamental reasons, they attacked Rojava and the YPG headquarters in a manner incompatible with the ethics of war. The Qereçox attack has exposed the anti-Kurdish and anti-democracy character of the AKP-MHP fascism.
AFRIN AND QEREÇOX ATTACKS HAVE SIMILAR CHARACTERS
The Afrin attack and the Qereçox attack have many similar characteristics. They attacked Afrin because they are anti-Kurdish and anti-democratic. The attacks have shown that the Turkish state is not just against the people of Northern Kurdistan, but all parts of Kurdistan. Those who attacked Qereçox have threatened to invade Başurê Kurdîstan and Kirkuk.
Qereçox, Kirkuk and Afrin attacks have shown where the Kurdish people as a whole should stand regarding the Turkish state. Until the current mindset of the Turkish state changes, their anti-Kurdish characteristic will remain. In this sense, Kurds in all parts should see that attacks against Kurds in one part are attacks against all Kurds, and take a clear stance against the AKP-MHP aggression. It is very important that they break the will to attack Kurds so a free and democratic life can be attained.
As the Kurdish Freedom Movement, we fight against the AKP-MHP fascist government that is against all Kurds. We will push the attacks back and remove this obstacle on the path of all the peoples of Kurdistan and the Middle East for a free and democratic life.
HOLD TO ACCOUNT
The Qereçox and Afrin martyrs will be our reason to develop our struggle for a free Kurdistan and a democratic Middle East. The perpetrators will definitely be held to account.”
ARMENIANS KILLED IN 1915 COMMEMORATED
The KCK Executive Council Co-presidency statement also commemorated the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide and said:
“We bow down with respect for the memory of the people who lost their lives during the Armenian and Assyrian/Syriac genocide that started on April 24, 1915. Their memory is among our reasons to fight against genocidal forces. Armenians, Kurds and Syriacs have lived together on these lands for centuries, and become sister peoples that complement each other in every way. A relationship and life similar to what we today call the democratic nation was put to practice by these peoples for centuries. We believe that today, like for centuries in the past, Kurds, Syriacs, Armenians, Arabs, Turkmens, Circassians, Chechens, Azeris and Terekemes will live on these lands with the spirit of a democratic nation on a common motherland. In this sense, our struggle is also the struggle for freedom and democracy of the peoples who lived and were subjected to genocides on these lands.”
