Turkish airstrikes on Qasra town of Hewler (Erbil) in Southern Kurdistan killed four local people last night.
While Qasra town official Şaxewan Ehmed told media close to KDP that “There are PKK bases in the bombed areas”, activists said “There are no PKK bases in the bombed areas which are all civilian settlements. Civilians live in these areas.”
Asayish (security) forces of the KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) detained three activists who protested the massacre and refuted Ehmed’s claims. The detainees were identified as Binyamîn Yusif, Rêbaz Mele and Xalîd Resu.
On the other hand, Sidekan asayish banned entry to the village of Bermize that is located near the border with Northern Kurdistan, under fire from the Turkish army. Journalists that wanted to go to the scene after the bombardment were also prevented on the grounds of that the area was prohibited.
It grabs attention that the Turkish state attacked Bermize and Lelkan villages after the ban of entry to the region. Turkish state’s attacks also damaged the vineyards and orchards of the local people, in addition to killing animals.
