KDP detains Tevgera Azadî co-chair Şilan Şakir
Tevgera Azadî co-chair Şîlan Şakir has been detained by KDP security forces in Zaxo in Southern Kurdistan.
Tevgera Azadî Spokesperson Tara Hisên issued a written statement on the detention of Şilan Şakir and said:
“Şilan Şakir has been detained by KDP security forces last night at around 22.00 without a court-ordered arrest warrant as she was visiting Zaxo.
Şilan Şakir was detained by the Asayish security forces while she was visiting Tevgera Azadî member Mihemed Zaxoyî in his home.
As Tevgera Azadî we strongly condemn this approach by the KDP. We demand Şilan Şakir be released at once.”
