The attacks launched by the invading Turkish state against South Kurdistan (North Iraq) in partnership with the ruling party KDP have been continuing since April 17. While the nature of Kurdistan has been seriously damaged, numerous civilians have been killed by Turkish attacks. In the meantime, the guerrillas are continuing their historic resistance against the invasion attacks. However, The Kurdistan Region government remains silent in the face of attacks.
Speaking to Rojnews, journalist Armanc Cuma said that they stood against the invasion attacks of the Turkish state with various demonstrations. “With our actions, we have warned and informed the government of the Kurdistan Region about the perils of the attacks. However, unfortunately, neither the Kurdistan Region government nor the Iraqi central government has developed a serious reaction to the Turkish attacks. Due to the inaction, the Turkish state is escalating its attacks and killing citizens in different parts of the Kurdistan Region.”
Journalist Cuma also addressed the partnership between the Turkish state and the KDP, saying: “Because of its political, military and economic interests in partnership with Turkey, the KDP has not developed any reaction against the attacks. Due to its position in the government, not as a party, but as a ruling party, it prevents the government from opposing the Turkish attacks.”
“The Turkish state does not hide its aims. It openly reveals that its main goal is to take control of Mosul province. If the Turkish state is not prevented, it will pose a major danger to all of Kurdistan,” another journalist, Didewan Yakup, said.
