The Turkish army built a bridge over Haci Beg River and dispatched vehicles and ammunition to Southern Kurdistan in an effort to expand their invasion, escorted by KDP’s asayish forces.
The Turkish state seeks to perpetuate its invasion in Geliye Reş, Bermize village and Mount Siro regions in Southern Kurdistan, northern Iraq.
According to information ANF obtained from local sources, the Turkish army built a bridge over Haci Beg River the day before for a dispatching of tanks, panzers, armored vehicles and heavy artillery.
AGENCIFICATION IMPOSITION ON VILLAGERS
Sources state that Turkish troops continue their efforts to get deployed on Mount Siro and surroundings.
Accordingly, Turkish soldiers held a meeting with residents of the Bermize village, and asked the local people to inform them about guerrilla activities in the region and also encouraged them to cut down trees in the forested area.
A villager asking to remain anonymous said; “They are invading our lands and trying to get deployed here as if it was their own country. While doing this, they also seek to turn us into spies and agents working for them.”
VILLAGERS OPPOSE THE INVASION AND KDP
The villager said they were uncomfortable with the Turkish army’s efforts for invasion, and said the following; “This invasion effort is not taking place without a deal with the KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party). It comes out now that this invasion is being conducted in the scope of a planning made by Nechirvan Barzani with MİT (Turkish intelligence service) in Turkey before he left for France recently. Local people are uncomfortable with the Turkish invasion. For this reason, some 12 families left their homes in the village after yesterday’s meeting with Turkish officials. We want the KDP to give up on this collaboration as soon as possible. If they don’t do this, they will lose us, the people living in the region.”
THEY WANT TO ENCIRCLE XAKURKE
The Turkish army’s efforts to make Geliye Reş and Mount Siro Hill a permanent base is not limited with this. After Siro Hill, Turkey seeks to invade high hills of Geliye Reş and Koordine Hill in order to encircle Xakurke. Reports suggest that after Siro Hill, Turkish troops also have plans on Deşta Herte in Sidekan.
REINFORCEMENT TO SHELADIZE WITH ASAYISH SUPPORT
After the building of a bridge over Hacı Beg River for the passing of armored vehicles in an effort to make the invasion in Geliye Reş, Bermize village and Mount Siro regions permanent, the Turkish army dispatched armored vehicles including tanks and panzers, as well as heavy artillery to their military base in Sheladize. The Turkish deployment was escorted by KDP’s asayish (public security) forces with 5 vehicles at around 20:30 Thursday evening.
