Reactions are growing against the Turkish state’s attacks on Southern Kurdistan. Youth organization Komalên Ciwan members and NGOs staged a demonstration in protest at the attacks in Kirkuk.
“BARZANİ LEGITIMAZES THE INVASION”
In a statement on behalf of the demonstrators, Hisên Sebah recalled the Turkish army’s invasion of Southern Kurdistan borders, saying; “The invading Turkish army has already settled in some areas and is preparing for an attack. The Turkish state intends to invade Southern Kurdistan lands through invasion operations.”
Sebah criticized the southern Kurdistan and Iraqi governments for not taking a stand against the threat of invasion, saying; “Nechirvan Barzani’s statements legitimize the invasion and are compatible with the statements of fascist Turkish state’s officials. As Kirkuk youth, we describe this approach as immorality and condemn it in strongest terms.”
Mentioning the silence of international powers, Sebah said this silence means an approval of savage Turkish attacks.
CALL TO IRAQ
Hisên Sebah called on the Iraqi President and Parliament to bring the invasion attacks to the parliament’s agenda.
