“KRG government is silent on Turkish and Iranian attacks”

Activists from Halabja protested the bombardment of civilian areas by Turkish and Iranian warplanes, saying that Kurdistan Regional Government officials are silent on Turkish and Iranian states’ fascist attacks on Kurdistan lands.

Attacks by Turkish and Iranian states against Southern Kurdistan soil have left dozens of civilians dead up to date, while also damaging the living areas, fields, vineyards and orchards of local people. Several people had to evacuate their villages due to attacks.

Speaking to Roj News Agency, activists from Halabja protested the bombardment of civilian areas by Turkish and Iranian states, stressing that the target is the Kurdish people.

Remarking that Turkish and Iranian states are after attacks and massacres against the Kurds, activist Serbest Mihemed said civilian settlements are bombed and people are massacred almost every day. He continued; “Those talking about international law close their ears when Kurdistan is in question. The attacks aim to intimidate the Kurdish people. Iran and Turkey are invading states. The Kurdish people must oppose these attacks in unity. We cannot accept these attacks.”

Activist Baxtiyar Kakeyî said that; “The government of Kurdistan region is silent and shows no reaction although Turkish and Iranian states are attacking Kurdistan lands in a fascist manner. The KRG is acting as if these attacks were targeting another country. It seems that they will not speak out even if Sulaymaniyah or Hewler is attacked. Bombardments are causing harm to the people. Officials must say stop to this.”

Bextiyar Kakeyî pointed out that Kurdish people do not trust the dirty politics of the Turkish state and continued; “The Turkish state is attacking Kurds on daily basis. When an earthquake happens, Turkish officials speak and say they will provide help. Nobody will believe these lies and dirty politics. Attacks must stop at once, they are harming the civilian population.”
