The Peoples’ United Revolutionary Movement (HBDH) and MLKP (Marxist Leninist Communist Party) Kurdistan Organisation have announced the martyrdom of guerrilla fighter Koray Aspir on August 28 in a battle with the Turkish army in Kağızman, a district in Kars province.
According to the statements published on Wednesday, Koray Aspir was a Kurd and grew up in the environment of the liberation struggle. At the time of the ISIS attack on Kobanê, he joined the guerrilla in the mountains and in Rojava, where he participated in the construction of the revolutionary structures. He was involved in both social work and military activities. Later he fought in the Medya Defense Zones, as well as in Northern Kurdistan and the Black Sea region in northern Turkey.
The HBDH statement about him said: "He never stopped and was never tired. In difficult situations he did not stand back. He always pursued the goal to develop himself further and to find solutions for all problems that arose. With his modesty and commitment, he undertook an important function in the united revolutionary forces".
The HBDH vowed retaliation and said: "We will hit the fascist murder gangs everywhere and avenge our martyrs in more powerful actions.”
