Within the scope of an investigation launched by the Siirt Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Siirt (Sêrt) Provincial co-chairs Ferhat Başkurt, Muazzez Bulga, Democracy and Equality Party (DEM) Party central council members Maşallah Erbey and Ahmet İstek, DEM Party Central District co-chair Rahime Kaysi, DEM Party Siirt Provincial Organization executives Takyedin Alver, Kıymet Mut, and Siirt Municipality co-mayor candidate Elif Akan were detained following raids on their homes.

It was learned that those detained were taken to Siirt Provincial Police Department.
